The Stables Families of Rotherham
The Rotherham branch of the Stables Family was founded when Samuel William Stables (b.1849 Street), the illegitimate son of Susannah Stables (b.1819 Tickhill), moved to Parkgate with his wife Hannah Rotherham (b.1865 Conisbrough).
Other Stables Families arrived in Rotherham under less fortunate circumstances when they were deposited in Rotherham Workhouse.
